What happens when four podcasters get together in a studio with plenty of beer and plenty to discuss? Listen in as the Drinking Partners welcome fellow podcasters and Pittsburghers, Straight to the League in this boisterous and unrestrained episode. Much of the first half is highly caffeinated as Tae and Tim make themselves at home with Ed and Day. In a surprising turn midway through, the men discuss the Pennsylvania Farm Show before transitioning into current events and the inner workings of creating a podcast. Without warning, the conversation turns domestic, and the men talk shopping and clothing. There are few pauses and lots of laughs in this latest Drinking Partners offering. Find Straight to the League at: http://www.blogordieradio.com/straight-to-the-league.html To see the Drinking Partners podcast live, stop by the For the Love of Pittsburgh local food tasting at the August Wilson Center on February 10, 2018 at 3:00pm. Proudly sponsored by Farm to Table Pittsburgh.

By his own calculations, Mayor John Fetterman has provided the Drinking Partners with 2% of their podcast content. To maintain this record, he returns to discuss his candidacy to become Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor in a stirring and straightforward manner and stays unfazed by Ed and Day’s antics, even when they ask what exactly a Lieutenant Governor is. Without pause, he answers all of their questions and proves himself to be progressive, knowledgeable, and approachable. From the legalization of marijuana to school funding to gentrification, the Drinking Partners quiz Mayor Fetterman on his plans for improving Pennsylvania while adding their own insights and, of course, jokes. A series of queries from the live Facebook feed infuses the podcast with a real-time feel and offers one of its best moments as Mayor Fetterman’s wife Gisele asks a question of her own. Listen in for the hilarious exchange and to hear Ed’s plans to party in the governor’s mansion. To learn more about Mayor Fetterman, the May primary, and his plans for Pennsylvania, visit www.johnfetterman.com. To see a Drinking Partners podcast live, find them at the August Wilson Center on February 7 at 3:00 PM where they will record from the For the Love of Pittsburgh event. This episode was proudly sponsored by Farm to Table Pittsburgh, whose aim is to bridge the gap between consumers and local food producers.

What started as two friends strumming guitars on the streets on a warm February night has leapt into a Pittsburgh-based web series dedicated to raising money for local charities. Spare Change TV creator Josh Corcoran brings an uplifting vibe into the studio as he describes how Spare Change began and how it continues to flourish. Inspired by the positivity and warmed with beer from Yellow Bridge Brewing, Ed pitches his own message of goodwill, “Be a good motherfucker today” and hopes that it catches on. At the midway point, the Drinking Partners reflect on the past year, from Ed’s accident to the expansion of their stand up shows. Tune in until the end to hear Mr. Corcoran describe what will be upcoming for Spare Change and to listen as Day defends the Chevy Astro Van as his ideal car. A heartening interview to end what was a monumental year for the Drinking Partners. The Drinking Partners celebrate the holidays live in the studio courtesy of a custom gift from Troeg’s Independent Brewing and welcome Pittsburgh-based author Cat Bruno. Bucket list ambitions dominate the early minutes, with several pauses, both literary and sexually suggestive, as listeners have come to expect. Ed and Day unite and vibe with a special synchronicity that leads to twice the amusement as the trio weaves the personal and professional throughout the interview. No discussion of fantasy and science fiction would be complete without Ed proclaiming that, “Space ain’t real,” before both Drinking Partners break off into a wild, wicked, and officially unendorsed segment. A brief reading from Ms. Bruno’s second book causes Ed to suffer an identity crisis, which makes for one of the most unforgettable Drinking Partners confessions since their dawning. Longtime fans of the show will not want to miss Ed’s blood-centric dilemma, which Day guesses is responsible for his co-host’s new facial hair growth. A jubilant listen filled with bits on books and writing, but true to Drinking Partners merry recklessness. For more about Cat Bruno, visit her website: www.catbruno.com or find her on Amazon.

Listeners will know from the start that a special Drinking Partners guest is in the studio, moreso once Ed makes her repeat her opening greeting. Khamil Scantling – the creator and sole contributor of CocoaPrenuer, a Pittsburgh-centered initiative designed to highlight and promote Black-owned businesses – joins Ed and Day to discuss her thoughts as a transplant to Pittsburgh. With a focus on Black success, Khamil speaks with an ease that comes naturally from her CocoaPrenuer passion and her familiarity with the Drinking Partners. Longtime fans of the show will recognize Khamil from the many stories and anecdotes that Ed has shared about her over the years. Midway through, the trio gets personal and loose. The conversation becomes a classic Drinking Partners extravaganza: wild, loud, and hilarious. Listen until the closing minutes for a rare and intimate look into who the Drinking Partners are.
